Playground ＜花やしき＞

浅草名物『花やしき』のシンボルタワーです。

観覧車風になっていて、くるくる回りながら上がっていくと、浅草寺がよく見えます。『Beeタワー』という名前があるんだそうです。

日本最古の『ローラーコースター』は狭い園内のアトラクションすれすれを駆け抜けて行くので相当コワイです。

"Hanayashiki" is an amusement park in Asakusa.

The park have a symboｌ tower named "Bee Tower".

They have oldest roller coaster in japan. It began to run 50 years ago.

Kaminarimon ＜今日の雷門＞

今日の雷門は夕方から雨。

ちょっと、肌寒い一日でした。

路面が濡れると、ライトアップがキレイに見えます。

It's rainy today in Asakusa.

Kaminarimon is illuminated in the rain. I think it beautiful.

Guideboad ＜道案内＞

最近、観光客が増えてきたせいか、浅草のいたるところで案内板を見かけるようになりました。

浅草寺周辺は、花やしきのシンボルタワー以外に高い建物が少なく、地元をよく知らない人は実は迷いやすいのです。でも、小さなエリアなので適当に歩いても大丈夫。迷子を楽しむのも浅草散歩の醍醐味なのです。

もし迷ったら、案内板で一度自分の現在地を確認してみてください。

There are many guideboards in Asakusa.

If you lose your way, don't worry about it.

Information boards show you the way where you want. 

Asakusa is very small town, so I sometimes enjoy losing my way on purpose.

Kaminarimon ＜今日の雷門＞

今日の雷門は晴れ。

夕方になっても雷門には大勢の人が訪れていました。

みんな楽しそうに記念写真を撮っていました。

そろそろ花粉の季節です。

It is fine today in Kaminarimon.

There are many people in front of Kaminarimon on this evening.

Some of them takes souvenior pictures with Kaminarimon in the background. 

They look very happy.

Ramen shop ＜麺屋武蔵＞

雷門のすぐ近くにおいしいラーメン屋さんがあります。

『麺屋武蔵　江戸きん』は銀座線浅草駅１番出口を出てすぐ、かんのん通りの入口にあります。新宿本店が有名ですが、ここもなかなか美味。醤油ベースに魚介のダシがマッチしたスープにたべごたえのある麺、腹持ちもいいのでクセになります。豚骨やカレー味など期間限定ラーメンもやってます。つけめんもおいしかった。

There are some ramen shops in Asakusa.

"Menya-musashi Edokin" is one of my favorite ramen shops. 

You can find the ramen shop near Asakusa station in the Ginza Line.

It is a ground-floor shop in a building set back from the road near Kaminarimon.

Steak house ＜肉の松喜＞

週末に必ず行列ができる肉屋『松喜』。

松坂牛や黒毛和牛が安く買えると評判の有名店。ハンバーグミートもおすすめ。２階はステーキレストランになっています。雷門から浅草通りを西に向かってすぐ。スーパー『オオゼキ』の前にあります。

”Matsuki" is my favorite meat store in Asakusa. It is well known for "Matsuzaka beef" to the local population. You can eat a delicious beef steak for inexpensive price upstairs.

Kaminarimon ＜今日の雷門＞

今日の雷門は晴れ。

天気が良かったせいか、雷門は朝から大賑わい。

仲見世も浅草寺までずっと人が連なっていました。

Nakamise shopping arcade is crowded with many people on warm sunshine.

Spring is near.

Sushi bar ＜本まぐろ解体＞

先週の日曜、雷門の近くで本まぐろの解体をやっていました。

『築地すし鮮』は浅草通りのスターバックスの隣のビルの１，２階。

２４時間営業のすし屋です。

I saw people filleting a natunal raw tuna in Asakusa.

"Tsukiji Sushisen" is a sushi bar 24 hourｓ a day.

You'll find the restaurant along Asakusa-street near Kaminarimon.

Tokyo Tower ＜東京タワー＞

今日は東京タワーがきれいに見えました。

雷門と並んで、東京観光の定番のランドマークです。

浅草からは電車で30分程度で行けます。

天気がいい時は富士山も見ることができますよ（写真奥）。

I got a great view of Tokyo Tower today.

The current Tokyo Tower is 333 meters tall. The national landmark function as a broadcasting tower for TV and radio.

Grilled beef ＜焼肉平城苑＞

雷門から浅草通りを西に歩くと、炭火焼肉 『平城苑』があります。

ド派手な看板の上に祀られた神輿（写真左）、入口で出迎える牡牛となぜか背中に犬…？（写真下）と、かなりインパクトのある外観ですが、国産牛一頭買いのこだわりで美味しい肉がリーズナブルに食べられます。ランチもオススメです。

When you look for a grilled beef restaurant, I introduce "Heijouen" to you. Go west from Kamninarimon gate, so you can find the restaurant soon. A ox having  a dog on his back marks the entrance to the restaurant.  You'll enjoy a beef barbecue at a reasonably low cost.

It's only a five-minute walk from Kaminarimon.

DVD Rental ＜TSUTAYA＞

浅草にもTSUTAYAがあります。

雷門方面から新仲見世通りをまっすぐ行った先、ROXのすぐ近くです。

水曜日はCD・DVDが190円でレンタルできます（新作除く）。

１階には24時間オープンのマクドナルドがあります。

”TSUTAYA" is a famous DVD rental shop in japan.

I can rent a DVD at only 190 yen  on wednesday.

On the first floor, there is McDonalds 24 hours a day.

Famous cafe ＜アンヂェラス＞

浅草で最も有名な老舗喫茶店『アンヂェラス』。

昭和な雰囲気の店内では、ケーキやパフェを頬張りながらおしゃべりを楽しむお客さんたちの姿があります。水出しコーヒー《ダッチコーヒー》が名物。池波正太郎ほか文豪たちも通いつめたとか。

オレンジ通りを浅草公会堂に向かって行くと右手にあります。

”Angelus" is most famous cafe in Asakusa.

It looks classic appearance. 

It is well known as Ikenami Shotaro (a famous novelist) often droped in for a cup of coffee.

Food store ＜オオゼキ＞

雷門の近くにスーパー『オオゼキ』があります。

ここの野菜は安くて新鮮。

店頭に野菜や果物が山のように積まれていて、いつも大勢のお客さんが食材を選んでいます。ポイントを現金で換金できるのも便利。

Fresh food store "OZEKI" is near Kaminarimon  in Asakusa.

At the shop, there are fresh fruits and vegetables piled up. I think they are inexpensive. I often see tourists doing their shopping in this supermarket.

Dorayaki ＜どら焼き亀十＞

どら焼きで有名な和菓子屋、『亀十』です。

雷門のすぐ近くにあります。

ここのどら焼きは文句なしに美味しい。

皮がしっとりと柔らかく、一度食べるとクセになります。

休日はいつも行列ができます。

おみやげにも喜ばれますよ。

"Kameju" is a famous japanese sweets store near Kaminarimon in Asakusa. 

It is well known as "Dorayaki "(bean-jam pancake).

It's one of my favorite sweets.

Many people stand in line at all times in the weekend.

Kaminarimon ＜今日の雷門＞

今日の雷門は晴れ。

浅草仲見世商店街には朝からたくさんの人が訪れます。

写真の手前のお店は老舗の和菓子屋『舟和』です。

芋ようかん（写真下）で有名ですね。

It is fine today in Asakusa .

There are many people walking around "Nakamise shopping mall" all day. You can see the japanese-style sweets shop "Hunawa" in this photo.

Hunawa is well known as "Imo-yokan" which is sweets made  for sweet potatoes.

I like it very much.

Kaminarimon ＜風神・雷神＞

雷門の大提灯の横には風神と雷神が鎮座しています。

左は雷神（写真左）、右が風神（写真下）です。

下から見上げると、どちらもなかなか迫力があります。

『風雷神門』と呼ばれる由縁ですね。

On the front of Kaminarimon, Raijin and Fujin (the statue of Shinto gods) are displayed.

Raijin, the god of thunder and lightning, is located on the west side of the gate.

Fujin, the god of wind, is on the east side.

今日の雷門は曇り。

週末の雷門はいつもにぎわっています。

雷門をバックに記念撮影をしたり、仲見世通りを歩いて浅草寺まで足をのばしてみたり…。みんな楽しげに散歩しています。

雷門の大提灯の裏側です。

あまり知られていませんが、正式名称は『風雷神門』。

『雷門』は略称だったんですね。

それにしても暖かかったです、今日は。

The weather has been lovely today.

"Furaijinmon" is official name for "Kaminarimon".

You can look see the chinese character printed on the back of the lantern.

Cherry blossom ＜桜咲く＞

ちょっと早いですが、桜が咲いていました。

もうじき春なんですね。

I found a beautiful pink cherry blossom today.The cherry tree blossoms earlier than usual.

Japanese have long thought of sakusa cherry blossom as the flower which symbolizes the nation.

Internet cafe ＜まんが喫茶＞

雷門のすぐ近くにまんが喫茶があります。

１階がセブンイレブン。２階がデニーズ。

３階がまんが喫茶『知好楽』です。

There is a ineternet cafe near Kaminarimon.

A japanese internet cafe ,which also has many comics, is called "manga kissa".

The internet manga cafe is on the 3rd floor in a building.

You can use the internet to get infomation and read comics as much as you like.

Kaminarimon ＜今日の雷門＞

今日の雷門は曇り。

ライトアップされた雷門もきれいです。

夜の仲見世通りを散歩するのも楽しいですよ。

Soba shop ＜箱根そば＞

雷門の目の前に『箱根そば』ができました。

朝からやっています。（写真はかきあげそば）。

There is a soba shop "Hakone-soba" near Kaminarimon. You can eat soba (or udon) noodle standing up cheaply. You put the money in the ticket machine, and pick out what you want.

雷門の目の前に交番があります。

駐在さんがよく道案内をしています。

 

There is police box in front of Kaminarimon.

The policeman act as a guide for tourists. but I don't know they talk english very well.

Ramen shop＜ラｰメン320円＞

伝法院通りに『ら麺亭』というラーメン屋さんがあります。なんと320円でラーメンが食べられます。

中華麺という感じですが、スープがあっさりとおいしく、小腹が空いたときにはちょうどいいボリューム。ワンタン麺やシューマイも美味です。

If you can find Ramen stand "Ramen-tei", I recommend you to have ramen. In this stand, you can have noodles at 320 yen a bowl. It tastes good and cheep.

Curry house ＜下町カレー＞

浅草公会堂のすぐ近く、たぬき通りにカレー屋さんがあります。

下町カレー食堂『KORMA』。マイルドでおいしいカレーでした。

ランチもやってましたよ。

I like curry very much.

A curry house "KORMA" is in the back street called "Tanuki street".

It serves tasty currys.
